Black Messiah was founded 1994 as a pure old-school Black Metal band and paid tribute to Black Metal idols like Venom, Celtic Frost, Bathory, and Possessed. The first demo, which is totally sold out, came out in 1995. In 1997, Zagan recorded the first album "Sceptre of Black Knowledge" with drummer Nabahm (known from bands like Innana Unveiled and Goat of Mendes) through Last Episode and experienced a world wide distribution. Many guest musicians, and most notably former Sodom-Kreator guitarist Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik, have added their contributions to the creation of the first Black Messiah CD. In mid-1999 Black Messiah split up with Last Episode, in summer 2000, Zagan enters a self-rented studio to record a still unrevealed 3-track demo on its own, it carries on the solid tradition of the first album meeting up with traditional pagan elements which are represented by mandolin and/or violin. In the beginning of 2005 the band signed a deal under Einheit Produktionen. In Spring 2005 the band..s second longplayer "Oath of a Warrior" has been released by Soulfood. With this release the band managed to do an important step into international music business, responses have been predominantly good and many club gigs, some festivals and a small European tour with Irish pagan metal band Cruachan were done. Shortly before the recording sessions of their third album "Of Myths and Legends" the band split with Einheit Produktionen. The band signed with AFM Records and "Of Myths And Legends" was released in November 2006. Many Festival- and Live-Gigs followed in 2007 (Summer Breeze Festival, Ragnaroek Festival, Summer Nights Open Air...to name a few) which were already played by the Line-Up you have today and, in addition to that, Black Messiah began to work on new songs. In fall of 2007 the second European tour with Odroerir (Germany) and Tyr (Faroese Islands) followed. In 2008 the band entered the studio again to record "First war of the world", a concept album about the war between the Aesir and the Vanir which was released on 20th March, 2009 and again they received overwhelming critics from all over the globe. Also in 2009 Black Messiah smashed the stages hard. They played at the "Forefathers Open Air (SUI), Barther Metal Open Air (GER) and again the "Summer Breeze Open Air"(GER) where they broke this year..s crowd record in the "Party tent". Unfortunately Black Messiah had to split up with long year axeman Zoran at the beginning of 2010 who is now replaced by Frangus. The band immediately began the writing process for the new album which will released in summer/fall 2011 and besides that the live shows continued. Again some big festivals (Fiesta Pagana (SUI), Rockharz Open Air, Schiffenberg rock!-Festival) were played and in fall the third european tour together with Negura Bunget (RO), Adorned Brood(GER), Nomans land(RU), Heathen Foray(AUS) and Dyrathor (GER) takes place in germany, Suisse and the Netherlands. After the tour Black Messiah were honoured to be invited for the Oktobierfest 2011 in Moscow (RU) and after that they continued writing new songs. Next up will be a pre-production of their song "Windloni" and in addition to that, the absolutely first Black Messiah music video ever !
